Harmony at Home, Phase 3: 8 of 18 Sessions: Family China Settled!
Categories: Estate Management, Healing Grief & Loss, Survivor's Mission, Trauma Recovery & Renewal
Last Tuesday and Thursday we moved my mother’s (full), and maternal and paternal grandmothers’ (partial) dining service sets into the dining room cabinet. I decided I would use my Grandma Mac’s dishes for Day of the Dead (All Hallow’s Triduum) celebrations with family and friends, as well as Thanksgiving dinner (as was the custom in my childhood to spend Thanksgiving weekend with her and my parents). My mother and Grandma Fraser’s dining dishes will be used for Christmas and Easter dinners. Glassware from my mother-in-law will be incorporated into use as needed.
I kept one full tea service set (“Memory Lane,” my maternal grandmother’s forget-me-not pattern), just to be prepared for the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and other unexpected guests.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
