Take Care of Yourself: A Star and Seven Sustainable Skills for the Long-Term Care Journey
This presentation invites participants to learn and experience a visual, auditory, and kinesthetic model of self-care while viewing a socially critical cartoon presentation. Based on the findings of international dementia-carer health researchers and age-old spiritual practices, this program teaches five points for dementia-carer health plus seven sustainable skills. This is an educational, inspirational & light-hearted approach to a very serious subject (may be customized for audiences ages 8-88+).
Breakout Session Topics:
1. “Take Care” Life-Support Session
Share your “take care” story ups & downs; experience peer support & networking within a small group; create and take-home your own version of My Doable Self-Care Plan for the week or month.
2. Partner Yoga for Couples
Learn & experience seated partner yoga techniques that are proven to enhance non-verbal communication and connection between partners (bring a loved one or come by yourself; pairs will be formed from our group participants).
3. YogaDance for Care-Givers and -Receivers
This 60-75 minute yoga dance session accommodates people of all abilities (physical, mental, emotional, social), and brings the group on a body-mind-spirit journey that energizes and restores.

Mary collaborates with private groups and organizations to create a compensation arrangement that meets the financial capabilities of participants and/or the organization.
Program facilitation, materials, travel (mileage or airfare & local transportation), accommodations, and meals are standard contract items. Travel is based on Mary’s travel from her home in Topsfield, MA. If travel requires greater than a 2-hour drive, a two day minimum is required. Groups may collaborate to meet the two day minimum.
