Toughest Job in the World?

A commercial from Hillary Clinton’s campaign states that the American Presidency is the toughest job in the world. I respectfully disagree. The President has work hours, a salary, health benefits, and vacation time. 24/7 Family dementia caregivers do not have these job benefits. I would love to hear the 2016 presidential candidates speak on the issues family caregivers are facing in 2016 and beyond, and what their positions on these issues are. If you get a chance to ask them, do!

– Respite Vouchers
– Paid Time-off work and a Family Caregiver Stipend Program
– Health Insurance Benefit/Coverage for caregivers who have lost their jobs because of a family care role
– Funding for Memory Cafés, Educational Workshops, and other community support programs

Consider joining a caregiving coalition to learn more about important issues and play a role as an advocate:

ARCH National Respite Network
Mass Lifespan Respite Coalition
National Alliance for Caregiving Coalitions

Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
