As you friends in the Christian tradition begin your trek out to the desert wilderness (don’t forget your backpack snacks and water bottle!), don’t worry ’bout being alone – I’ve been out here for at least the past 90 days peering into my past and examining the who done it, the where, when, what, how, and why. I wrestled with the Truth bigger than me, for sure got sand in my eyes, fatigued myself in my attempt to get on top of it. In the end, the Truth won, pinned me and my words down on paper.
Yesterday, I hit the send button on a draft for peer-review. I don’t know if it will be published or not… but I’m glad I was invited to the challenge, as the process of writing it has grown me, healed me, deepened me, matured me, softened me, in ways I’m only beginning to understand.
Do not fear your walk in the desert wilderness, or if you chance upon it, the fiery pit of hot coals and flames begging your heart’s transformation.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
