Only three more days until our respite and recreation mission site – rest-stop-ranch.com – relaunches on World Alzheimer’s Day, September 21! This weekend, consider:
If you are a loved one living with dementia:
Respite and Recreation: What might it look like, feel like – to take a time-out from the symptoms of dementia? What if you were to say, “Dementia, I’m going on retreat.” Experiment with taking a 10-minute “Retreat from Dementia” where you are. Engage yourself in a joyful activity. Smile. Dance.
If you are a caregiver for a loved one with dementia:
Respite and Recreation: Consider an activity you both enjoy. Make a date this weekend to smile and laugh together as you enjoy a favorite activity.
If you are a friend, family-member, or neighbor to a family-with-dementia:
Respite and Recreation: Consider offering an hour or two to enjoy time with a loved-one with dementia, while you give the primary caregiver(s) a much-needed break.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
