Memory Ride for Alzheimer’s Research 2011

Yesterday, Karl and I volunteered for the second year at the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Memory Ride for Alzheimer’s Research. We were the first “Green Team” volunteers at the main event site, and the overall Green Team included volunteers at each pit stop along the route who helped with the recycling effort. We recycled hundreds of water & soda bottles and juice boxes. The new green program was a suggestion I made last year to the event organizers. With the help of the Sustainable Business Leader Program and Save That Stuff of Boston, I provided them with the research needed to make the decision to “go green” (approved in early June of this year). We heard that approximately 460 riders rode this year, a significant increase from last year. Event organizers, riders and volunteers were happy about the new program.

I look forward to hearing the final fundraising dollar amount!

Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
